Dapol / Airfix / Hornby NEM Coupling converters
This NEM has been updated, the clips have been removed due to breakages, and are now only glue in.
Suitable for Hornby, Dapol, and Airfix.
These are to replace the Dapol / Hornby coupling that clips round a central column with the plastic retainer clip that holes it all together. These are mainly designed for wagons, but also believe they may be suitable for some bogies with the same clip (some modification maybe required).
These couplings had a Big D shaped coupling or a slightly smaller one.
- Instruction -
The modification to fit the NEM converter is very simple and straight forward (See pictures) removal of the retainer shaft, with a shaft knife / cutters and a file. Remove the 3D printed resin pocket from the sprue, and can be glued in place,
I may recommend a small amount of glue to hold it in place.
